Andrew Jackson - Founding Director
Andrew Jackson is a Birmingham based documentary, editorial and portrait photographer. He has worked on commissioned and personal works, both at home and abroad and his photographs are held in both national and private collections of photography. He is co-founder of Some Cities and in 2012 was nominated for the Prix Pictet Award.
His practice centres on re-framing the figure or confining itself to detail; within a desire to examine the inherent paradoxes found within the exploration of identity and its representation. Explorations often to be found within the collisions, transactions and dislocations revealed within the social structures which bind us.
He has produced numerous editorial commissions for a range of national newspapers and is a qualified (PGCE) teaching BA and MA photography at a range of institutions such as Coventry University
